The heart of most homes is its kitchen. Although in our case the study would also have to rank as a 'heart', there is no doubt that many an enjoyable hour was spent by us all in the kitchen. Here it is in its vacant state on my final visit.

In happier times its wooden wall panels gave us good reason to use lots of wood grain in our furniture. Made for quite a 'warm' atmosphere. All this furniture was acquired at auction, the table and cabinet being what we spent the collection from our scottish wedding on.
The table next to the stove is intersting. It is a solid and 'friendly' piece of furniture, built from an old packing case. Some of Australia's best furniture (colonial and since) is made from recycled materials, its perhaps our favorite table.
